I moved my site from my blog sub-domain to the main domain somewhere around the first of April… it was a very easy process and I thought there were NO GLITCHES! But, of course, this was during a very busy time for me and did not take the time to stop and add a post. As all of my “post” material sat here adding up, I decided to add a post with some pictures a week or so ago. To my dismay, I could not get any pictures to successfully upload! It went through the whole process, and all of the information for the picture would show up, but NO PICTURE! Needless to say, this is NOT good for a photography website!
After a week or more of reloading WordPress, etc. I finally got into my directory to see that there was no folder for what would supposedly be May in my uploads folder! I worked on this for a while… then finally remembered to check my settings from where I switched over! Sure enough… all I had to do this whole time was remove the “memories” portion from my uploads default settings! Such a simple solution… and when I think of all I went through to get there… YIKES! I don’t know why it never clicked with me before!! Anyway, I have it fixed now… so it’s time to start some posting!
Born & raised in central Alabama, I had NEVER heard of Morel Mushrooms or “Mushroom Hunting” as it is kindly referred to up here in Indiana! But, like many other things in life, I found it quite intriguing. I have never had much luck finding that secret little Morel patch because it seems most Hoosiers are pretty tight lipped when it comes to sharing their treasured spots! However, this year my husband stumbled upon his own little Morel treasure patch! Thanks to a dear old friend who taught him the tricks of the trade!
He went out several times this season and we have enjoyed many servings of fried mushrooms! They really are very good! They taste a lot like a fried tenderloin… If you’ve never given them a try, I encourage you to try it… you might like it!
Here’s a few snapshots of our Morel Mushrooms:
